Ultra supporting STEM through Sir Samuel Mico Charity

24 August 2020

Ultra’s COVID-19 fund donated £1,200 to help support local young people's education during the pandemic.

The Sir Samuel Mico charity was founded around 350 years ago and has traditionally helped towards the costs of apprenticeships in the Weymouth area – assisting with the cost of tools, protective clothing and fees.

Many parents in Weymouth do not have the financial stability or the disposable income to support their children's education and development.

The Sir Samuel Mico charity provides grants towards:

  • Educational course fees
  • Living costs for those on educational courses
  • Equipment, books or tools required in connection with an educational course or apprenticeship
  • Other things to do with an individual's education or development

The Sir Samuel Mico Charities also works with The Smallpiece Trust which has been able to offer specific help for engineering students and those studying science, technology and math subjects.
