The official launch of USTEM took place in spectacular style at the Bournemouth Air Festival from 1 - 4 September 2022.
STEM stands for science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. USTEM is Ultra's newest initiative aimed at encouraging young people to explore and ultimately realise the benefits of a STEM related career.
The 4-day event showcased our brand-new STEM activities plus a couple of established favourites. They include a mind-control drone, virtual reality experiences, an interactive rocket fuel demonstration and a quick reaction game. Whilst the mind-controlled drone was our biggest draw, Red Arrows pilots showed their competitive spirit having a go on our quick reaction game, setting targets to challenge the kids. All activities are designed to inspire and shape the new generation of technicians, engineers, and scientists through STEM education.
During the event, USTEM Ambassadors from across several SBUs and support functions represented Ultra, hosting, and interacting with over 6,000 families across 30 hours of exhibiting!
